Casual General Labourers – Landscape Construction & Garden Maintenance
About the Role
Byron Bay Ranga is a landscape construction and garden maintenance company based in Byron Bay, delivering high-quality outdoor spaces across the Northern Rivers.
We are looking for reliable and hard-working Casual General Labourers to join our Landscape Construction and Garden Maintenance teams.
These are hands-on, outdoor roles suited to people who enjoy physical work, take direction well and want to be part of a professional team. Depending on experience, skills and operational requirements, you may work in our construction or maintenance department.
The positions are casual, approximately 2 days per week, with the potential for additional days depending on workload.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Depending on the team and project, your duties may include:
Landscape Construction
- Assisting landscapers and trades with general construction tasks.
- Site preparation, digging, moving materials and general manual labour.
- Assisting with planting, soil preparation, turfing and mulching.
- Loading, unloading and moving tools, equipment and materials.
- General site clean-up and maintaining an organised work area.
- Assisting with other landscape construction tasks as directed.
Garden Maintenance
- Assisting with mowing, whipper snipping, edging and hedging.
- Weeding, mulching and general garden upkeep.
- Assisting with planting and basic soil preparation.
- Loading and unloading tools, plants and green waste.
- Assisting with general property care and maintenance tasks.
- Keeping vehicles, equipment and worksites clean and organised.
Across both teams, you will be expected to follow instructions carefully, work safely and uphold company standards when working on client properties and construction sites.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in landscaping, gardening, construction or general labouring is preferred.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual work throughout the day.
- The ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a team.
- A current driver’s licence and ability to travel to worksites across the Northern Rivers.
- A reliable and professional attitude.
- Australian working rights.
- A White Card or willingness to obtain one.
Key Skills & Experience
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, digging and using basic landscaping equipment.
- Good time management and ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.
- Respectful and professional when working on client properties.
- Positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining clean and tidy worksites.

Pay: $26.45 – $35.35 per hour
