About the Role
A great opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our SA Projects Team working on a variety of fire protection and detection systems. You will use your knowledge and desire to learn, to produce detailed design packages across Mechanical, Electrical and Gas Suppression fire protection systems. You will work closely with our Installation Teams and liaise with Project Managers, Engineers and Estimators at various stages of fire system projects.
Key Role Objectives
- Develop detailed design drawings and related specifications of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Design fire detection and protection systems, cable schedules, cause and effect schedules, Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) Logic, wiring diagrams, schematics, FIP programs, pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as sprinkler heads, pumps, valves, flow and pressure switches for Firefighting equipment to relevant standards.
- Assist with developing tender documentation regarding mechanical and electrical works.
- Contract Administration of design work for contract projects in a manner that maintains agreed project estimates and forecasts.
- Liaise with all stakeholders to facilitate work and provide status updates.
- Attend site coordination meetings, when required.
Key Experience and Skills
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or similar qualification.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Skills to produce work with a high level of accuracy and detail.
- Ability to maintain focus on complex and multiple activities.
- Strong interest in drafting and technical designs, electrical and mechanical.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
