BAR ATTENDANT SUPERVISOR
The Sovereign Resort Hotel Pty Ltd T/A Sovereign Resort Hotel, located at 128 Charlotte Street, Cooktown QLD 4895, is seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Attendant Supervisor to join our hospitality team.
This is a full-time position. The successful applicant will receive a yearly salary of $77320.88 per annum plus superannuation.
We are seeking a skilled & motivated Bar Supervisor to oversee bar operations, lead a dynamic team, and deliver an excellent guest experience. Your role includes supervising staff, managing stock, following liquor licensing laws & house policy. Ensuring & delivery excellent customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Team Leadership & Training – Supervise, mentor, and train bar staff to uphold The Sovereign Resort Hotel’s high service standards. Assist in creating staff rosters and ensuring adequate coverage for peak times.
- Guest Engagement & Service – Greet guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating arrangements. Provide expert knowledge on the beverage menu, recommend pairings, and promote specials to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Bar Operations & Beverage Preparation – Oversee the preparation and service of cocktails, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring consistency and quality. Maintain stock levels, tap kegs, and replenish dispensers and shelves.
- Stock & Inventory Management – Conduct regular stock takes, monitor usage, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure a well-stocked bar. Implement waste reduction strategies and proper storage techniques.
- Financial Transactions & Reporting – Assist management with shift-end cash reconciliations, oversee cash handling procedures, and ensure tills have adequate change. Support in banking deposits and financial record-keeping.
- Venue Maintenance & Compliance – Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations. Manage bar equipment upkeep and functionality.
- Customer Relations & Dispute Resolution – Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and efficiently, striving to exceed expectations while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Event Coordination & Themed Nights – Assist in planning and executing special events, themed nights, and promotional activities to enhance guest experience and drive revenue.
- Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with the manager on duty and senior management to implement operational improvements, provide performance feedback, and contribute to a positive and motivated team culture.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Have a relevant AQF or equivalent Certificate III and at least one (1) year (20 plus hours per week) of relevant work experience; OR
- Have at least two (2) years (35 hours per week) relevant work experience.
- Certification in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is a plus.
