WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Enaex Australia is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Regulatory & Assurance Advisor to join our HSE team based in Brisbane.
This is a senior specialist role responsible for providing regulatory compliance expertise, governance, and assurance across Enaex Australia. With a particular focus on Major Hazard Facilities (MHF), environmental and operating licences, dangerous goods, explosives, and broader HSE regulatory obligations, you will play a critical role in strengthening our compliance capability and assurance framework across the business.
Working closely with operational leaders, site teams, regulators, and external specialists, you will provide expert advice, oversee assurance activities, and help ensure regulatory obligations are effectively understood, embedded, monitored, and managed across our operations.
This role is ideally suited to a highly capable regulatory, compliance, or assurance professional who enjoys influencing outcomes, building capability, and helping organisations navigate complex regulatory environments while maintaining a practical and risk-based approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve Enaex Australia's HSE regulatory obligations and compliance framework.
- Provide specialist governance and assurance support across Major Hazard Facilities and Safety Case requirements.
- Establish and oversee environmental and operating licence assurance programs across relevant sites.
- Develop and coordinate risk-based assurance programs, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Provide expert regulatory advice, coaching, and support to operational and functional leaders.
- Identify compliance improvement opportunities and strengthen assurance systems, processes, and governance practices.
Ideally you will have;
- Significant HSE regulatory, compliance, or assurance experience within high-hazard industries such as explosives, mining, chemicals, oil & gas, or major manufacturing.
- Strong experience working with Major Hazard Facility (MHF) regulatory frameworks and Safety Cases.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian WHS, Dangerous Goods, Explosives, environmental, and operating licence requirements.
- Experience developing compliance frameworks, obligations registers, assurance processes, and risk-based audit programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence leaders without direct authority.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HSE, Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Risk, or a related discipline.
