About the role
Looking for a flexible IT role where no two days are the same? Join the ICT team in this casual position and provide short-term, on-demand support across exciting projects, busy periods, staff backfill, and Council events, keeping technology running smoothly while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of IT environments.
- Be the go-to tech hero, providing face-to-face, phone and remote support across multiple locations.
- Get hands-on with hardware, software, networks, cyber security, user onboarding, upgrades and exciting technology rollouts.
- Help power Council meetings and community events with audio-visual, livestreaming and collaboration technology.
- Enjoy the variety of a casual role, supporting project backfill, peak workloads, event delivery and periods of increased service demand while working alongside experienced ICT professionals.
About you
You're an IT all-rounder who enjoys solving problems, helping people and getting hands-on with technology. Whether you're supporting users, deploying new devices, troubleshooting networks or assisting with exciting ICT projects, you're adaptable, customer-focused and ready to jump in when needed.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Solid IT experience - At least 2 years' experience in a corporate IT environment, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and Server environments. Experience with Azure, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, SCCM, SQL or similar technologies will be highly regarded.
- A natural problem solver - Strong troubleshooting skills, sound technical judgement and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to users of all experience levels, always with a customer-first approach.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset - Excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to prioritise changing workloads, contribute to projects, learn new technologies and work collaboratively as part of a supportive ICT team.
- A hands-on approach - A current driver's licence and the ability to travel across Indigo Shire, safely install and move IT equipment, work at and under desks when required, and support users across multiple Council locations.
- Flexibility and reliability - Comfortable working at a computer for extended periods and, when required, outside normal business hours to support priority issues, projects and Council events.
Please note: This is a casual, on-demand position, so flexibility is important. Because the role involves providing face-to-face technical support, installing and maintaining equipment, travelling between Council sites and supporting meetings and events, it is primarily an on-site role and cannot be performed remotely. As shifts may arise at short notice to cover staff leave, peak workloads or project work, applicants should be able to travel to Indigo Shire locations at short notice.
