Retail Sales Assistant – New Carlingford Store
GMGP – Good Meat Good People is looking for friendly, reliable and confident Retail Sales Assistants to join our new store at Carlingford Court Shopping Centre.
GMGP specialises in premium Australian Wagyu, Korean BBQ cuts and marinated meats, with retail locations across Sydney.
We are looking for team members who enjoy talking with customers, recommending products and providing great customer service.
IMPORTANT: This is a customer-facing role, and applicants must be able to communicate confidently in both English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).
About the Role
You will be working directly with customers at our Carlingford retail kiosk, helping them choose the right products and providing information about our Wagyu, Korean BBQ cuts and marinated meats.
Previous meat or Korean BBQ knowledge is not required. Full product training will be provided.
What is most important to us is that you are friendly, reliable, confident with customers and willing to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Recommend products based on customer needs
- Explain our Wagyu, Korean BBQ cuts and marinated products
- Operate the POS system and process payments
- Maintain attractive and well-stocked product displays
- Restock products throughout the day
- Keep the kiosk clean, organised and presentable
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Support product tasting and promotional events when required
- Work together with the team during busy trading periods
Essential Requirements
- Must be able to communicate confidently in both English and Chinese
- Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking ability
- Friendly and confident when speaking with customers
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Weekend availability
- Must have valid Australian working rights
Experience
Previous experience in retail, customer service, hospitality or sales is preferred but not essential.
If you have the right attitude and communication skills, we are happy to provide full training.
Experience with meat, Korean BBQ or Asian grocery retail would be an advantage.
