In partnerships with LawAccess NSW, Community Legal Centres and the Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT, we are located throughout the state including our Central Sydney office, 25 regional offices, and satellite and outreach offices.
As the Senior Solicitor, you will provide legal advice and representation to clients of Legal Aid NSW, including complex casework services, in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policies and guidelines in order to contribute to the implementation of Legal Aid NSW’s mission to deliver high-quality legal services to our clients and to assist them to resolve their legal problems. Supervise and lead junior legal staff in achieving this aim.
The role provides the opportunity to have a mix of management/leadership and criminal law practice. The successful candidate would have opportunities to conduct a varied criminal law practice, which might include EAGP, District Court appeals, complex summary hearings, and/or Children’s Court matters.
The Tamworth crime team are a fantastic group of young lawyers who are keen, committed and talented. We are looking for an experienced criminal lawyer who can invest in their development and provide them with the opportunities to do maintain a mixed practice of interesting and complex criminal law work.
Beyond the legal work, you will supervise and lead junior legal staff, fostering their development and ensuring excellence in legal practice. Through your leadership, you will contribute to the effective implementation of Legal Aid NSW’s mission to support and empower clients through high-quality legal assistance.
