ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking Disability Support Workers for potential ongoing shifts in the Yanchep / Two Rocks area.
This role may involve supporting a participant in a home-based setting with daily living, community access, routines, and overnight support.
Male support workers are strongly encouraged to apply due to participant preference and support needs. However, all suitable applicants will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in line with participant needs and support plans
- Assist with daily living tasks and household routines
- Support community access, appointments and social participation
- Encourage independence, choice and dignity
- Maintain a safe, calm and respectful support environment
- Follow care instructions and workplace procedures
- Complete accurate shift notes and incident reports
- Communicate professionally with the Mecura team and relevant stakeholders
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Disability support
- Supported Independent Living
- Mental health or psychosocial support
- Complex support needs
- Community access support
- Sleepover or inactive overnight shifts
- Personal care support
- Behaviour support strategies
Requirements
Applicants must have or be willing to provide:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check, if applicable
- Australian Driver’s License
- Reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Manual Handling certificate, preferred
- Medication training, preferred
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Infection Control certificate
- Right to work in Australia
- ABN and Public Liability Insurance, preferred
Availability
We are seeking support workers available for:
- Morning shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon shifts: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Inactive overnight shifts: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Weekday and weekend availability
- Short-notice commencement

Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
