About the role
Working closely with our Events Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across our diverse events portfolio. From corporate functions and gala dinners to weddings and large-scale celebrations, you’ll assist in leading the kitchen team to ensure every dish is executed to the highest standard.
As the second-in-command, you will support the day-to-day operation of the events kitchen, oversee service in the Head Chef’s absence, and contribute to menu development, team leadership and maintaining exceptional food quality.
Key duties include:

Support the Events Head Chef with the daily operation of the events kitchen

Lead and supervise the kitchen team during preparation and service, ensuring smooth execution of all events

Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Events Head Chef

Assist with menu development and seasonal menu planning

Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency

Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, stock rotation and inventory control
-
Assist in managing food and labour costs in line with budget expectations

Ensure compliance with food safety, cleaning and workplace health and safety standards

Train, mentor and develop junior chefs, providing coaching and on-the-job training

Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing kitchen culture

What do you need to be considered?

Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume events, hotel or premium hospitality environment

Relevant culinary qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen teams

Experience assisting with menu development and event execution

Strong understanding of food cost control, labour management and stock control

Excellent knowledge with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements

Exceptional organisational, planning and time management skills

The ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering consistently high-quality results
