The Role
As we continue to expand our footprint and after successfully being shortlisted for multiple NSW tenders, this is the opportunity for an experienced Project Director to join an established business and be a part of the establishment of Bielby’s NSW business unit. You will be empowered to take full ownership of a project from its inception during the bid phase, through to successful site-based delivery of major infrastructure projects.

What you’ll do

Lead the strategic development of tenders, taking ownership of the proposed methodology, staging, and technical solutions.

Collaborate with the Pre-Contracts team to ensure the estimate and program are robust, competitive, and reflect the unique logistical challenges of delivery.

Command project financial performance through cost control and expert contract administration, ensuring accurate forecasting and the strategic management of variations and claims.

Act as the lead technical representative in client interviews and tender presentations, building early confidence with stakeholders and government bodies.

Transition seamlessly from the bid phase to site delivery, serving as the ultimate authority on-site for project delivery.

Champion a culture of leadership excellence, taking ultimate responsibility for site-wide WHS compliance, risk mitigation, and the mentorship of a high-performing project team.

Navigate the specific complexities of regional work, including resource mobilisation, local supply chain management, and remote logistics.

Ensure the project team implements company procedures to consistently produce high-quality outcomes that meet project and client specifications.
What you’ll bring
-
15+ years in civil construction, including leading large-scale infrastructure projects.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related, with postgraduate qualifications in project management or business viewed favourably

Ability to forge trusted, long-term relationships with stakeholders through responsiveness, collaboration, integrity, and proactive communication.

The capacity to identify issues early and make effective, high-stakes decisions that balance commercial reality with project delivery.
