This position is responsible for the coordination of quality advice and operational business and executive support to the Director and Chief Nurse Officer (CNO) inclusive of budget and finance management, and program and governance support for the Office of the Chief Nurse Officer (OCNO). The position is responsible for the effective coordination and provision of governance and stewardship functions within the OCNO.
What you'll do
As the Manager, Governance and Stewardship, you will coordinate the delivery of responsive, time-critical and high-quality policy advice, executive support, and governance services to support the Chief Nurse Officer, Deputy Director-General, Director-General and Minister. You will lead the preparation and drafting of complex briefings, reports and cabinet submissions, presenting recommendations and findings to senior leaders to influence strategic outcomes. In this role, you will manage and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, driving performance standards, and supporting staff to achieve organisational, business and operational priorities while effectively managing risk. You will oversee and coordinate business and operational support services across the Office of the Chief Nurse Officer, including finance and governance functions, ensuring the provision of strategic, integrated support aligned with departmental and government priorities. Additionally, you will lead and deliver key office projects, initiatives and events as required, while working collaboratively with the OCNO leadership team and internal and external stakeholders to drive solutions, ensuring timely coordination of policy advice, executive support, financial and program matters so the Office meets its commitments and responsibilities.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
Proven experience working in the healthcare sectors, challenging and dynamic operating environments including proven ability to lead, manage and deliver complex projects/ programs of work to achieve outcomes within time and cost limitations.
Demonstrated high-level experience in policy coordination and provision of policy advice within a large complex environment, including the proven ability to analyse and integrate information from many sources and lead the completion of briefing notes, reports and submissions, programs / projects within required timelines.
Demonstrated ability in operational management, including human resource management, Branch and program level budget management, performance and reporting.
Highly developed strategic influencing and engagement skills to support consultation and collaboration with senior management and a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and strategic issues in provision of advice.
