About the role
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and experienced Private Housekeeper / Household Assistant to become part of our household on a long-term basis.
This is much more than a standard cleaning role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful, clean and organised home and is comfortable working independently.
The role will involve general housekeeping, laundry and preparing simple, fresh meals for lunch and dinner each day.
No formal chef qualifications are required — we are looking for someone who enjoys cooking and is comfortable preparing simple home-style meals.
Your responsibilities will include
- General cleaning and tidying of the home
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and bathrooms
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting clothes away
- Changing and making beds
- Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Preparing simple lunch and dinner each day
- Cleaning up after meal preparation
- Grocery shopping and collecting groceries when required
- Keeping the pantry and refrigerator organised
- General household organisation and tidying
- Occasional deeper cleaning tasks as required
- Taking initiative with household tasks rather than needing to be directed throughout the day

About our household
We are a young couple in our early 30s living in our home in Balhannah. We work from home so will be home while you are here.
There are only two people living in the home, along with our two dogs. Our dogs are very much part of the family, so it is important that the successful applicant is comfortable around dogs and genuinely enjoys having them around.
The home is relaxed and friendly, and we are looking for someone who will become a trusted and valued part of our household.
The cooking required is very simple and home-style. We are not looking for a professional chef. We would provide a weekly meal plan, with meals generally consisting of easy-to-prepare meals. The successful applicant would prepare lunch and dinner during their shift.
Hours & remuneration
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday
- Approximately 5 hours per day
- Approximately 25 hours per week
- Start time 1pm
- $45 – $55 per hour depending on experience and suitability
