About the role:
The Principal Program Adviser will lead key projects and initiatives that enable timely and equitable access to emergency care for all Victorians. This includes contributing to the whole of system level reform and policy development and the delivery of programs that promote improved access to emergency care. The role will support the delivery of key projects that both respond to increasing demands on the sector while managing the expectations of government, sector and the community to ensure that strategies and policies developed can be practically implemented by the health sector with demonstrable outcomes.
Demonstrating relevant experience and expertise in health systems, government processes, stakeholder consultation, policy design, and program implementation, this role will provide the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and impart enduring reform in the healthcare sector.

Can you demonstrate the following?
- Develops policy frameworks within area of expertise or responsibility based on defined organisational priorities
- Participates in strategic planning and contributes to strategic decision-making process
- Relies on formal and informal communication channels to achieve goals and engages stakeholders to help them identify areas and opportunities for improvement
- Initiates and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at peer or senior levels Manages consultation processes including engagement with key stakeholders.
- Uses knowledge of structures, processes and culture of government, the sector and the Department to develop policies and new program or project initiatives
- Subject matter expert that conceptualises, initiates, implements, promotes and evaluates complex and innovative technical programs
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, public policy, or health administration would be desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in government, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in policy development and implementation.
