What the role is
We’re seeking an Experienced Soil Technician to join our team based in Rouse Hill, to focus primarily on Level 1 earthworks projects in our role as the geotechnical inspection and testing authority (GITA) in the North West Sydney region. You will work alongside our Laboratory Manager, earthworks technicians and engineering staff, carrying out inspection and testing of earthworks operations in the field. You will also undertake soil laboratory testing in line with Australian and state standards.
This role requires strong communication skills, excellent organisation and a high level of integrity when working with earthworks contractors. It also includes a hands-on component, involving field and laboratory testing, data analysis and report preparation. What you’ll bring
Strong communications, both verbal and written, as well as a commitment to deliver work to the highest standard will be highly regarded.
Experience in earthworks operations with Level 1 earthworks supervision to AS3798 and Level 2 earthworks testing
A good understanding of Australian Standards for soil testing, as well as AS 3798-2007 for control and testing of earthworks
Current Nuclear Gauge Licence
Current Australian drivers licence
OH&S Induction card
A high level of initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm and be a team player
Exceptional record keeping and attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Bonus: Previous experience as a NATA signatory is highly regarded.
