The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished Group Leasing Manager to lead leasing strategy and delivery across a substantial multi-site retail portfolio spanning Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Based at our Australian Support Centre in Brisbane, this role will oversee the full leasing lifecycle, including new stores, relocations, renewals, exits and lease documentation. You will combine strategic portfolio planning with high-level commercial negotiation, ensuring leasing initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and in support of the Group’s growth strategy across its markets and brands.
Partnering closely with executive leaders, internal stakeholders, landlords and external property partners, you will protect the Group’s commercial interests while identifying opportunities to strengthen and optimise the store network.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop short, medium and long-term network strategies across Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
- Lead leasing activity for new stores, relocations, renewals, closures and exits.
- Source, secure and negotiate commercially favourable lease transactions.
- Manage critical lease dates and ensure appropriate tenancy arrangements remain in place.
- Maintain a comprehensive view of the existing portfolio, relocation requirements and new-store targets.
- Analyse new-store growth opportunities in line with individual brand requirements.
- Review, negotiate and appropriately document property leases.
- Prepare detailed sign-off packs and supporting documentation for finalised negotiations.
- Minimise commercial exposure and risk during relocations, closures and sublease arrangements.
- Build productive, long-term relationships with landlords, retailers and property contacts.
- Partner with legal, management and executive stakeholders to secure strong commercial outcomes.
- Lead and support the effective performance of lease administration activities.
What We’re Looking For
You are a highly credible leasing and property professional with extensive experience managing large, complex retail portfolios. Commercially astute and strategically minded, you bring the confidence to lead significant negotiations while maintaining trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in retail leasing or property management.
- Experience negotiating lease transactions for large, multi-site retail portfolios.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing detailed leasing and network strategies.
- Strong experience reviewing and negotiating formal lease documentation.
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating tenders and contracts.
- Detailed knowledge of retail property markets and their key stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and negotiation capabilities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a commercial environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Property, Business, Commerce, Real Estate, Law, Project Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded, along with membership of a recognised professional property body or formal negotiation, commercial property or real estate qualifications.
