As our client base continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Public Practice Accountant who enjoys building trusted client relationships and delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services.

About the Role
Reporting to the Directors and Senior Accountants, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while providing professional accounting and taxation services across a broad range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders.
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Assist clients with taxation, compliance and business advisory matters.
- Prepare management reports and financial information for business clients.
- Liaise directly with clients, the Australian Taxation Office and other government agencies.
- Maintain accurate working papers and client records.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation legislation.
- Manage workflow and client deadlines efficiently.
- Contribute to a positive and professional team culture.
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ Australian public practice accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian taxation legislation.
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types.
- Experience preparing BAS and IAS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Highly Regarded
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Xero
- Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
- FYI Docs
- Microsoft 365
- HandiLedger or similar accounting software
- Cloud-based accounting technologies
CA or CPA membership (or active progress towards professional membership) will be highly regarded.
