The Role
Our Sydney Tax & Private Advisory practice is growing with an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Legal Assistant to support a partner and special counsel in our newly established Wills and Estates team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation matters.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the team with the day-to-day management of files while delivering exceptional service to clients during often sensitive and significant life events.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing diaries, appointments, and client meetings;
- Opening and closing files;
- End of month billing;
- Answering phone calls and assisting with enquiries;
- Drafting emails, letters, and documents;
- Printing, collating and formatting documents;
- Preparation of briefs and court books;
- Filing and file management; and
- General administrative duties as required.
Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a legal secretary or executive assistant position;
- Experience in wills and estates and/or litigation will be highly regarded;
- Excellent communication skills with a strong client-service focus;
- A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients;
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and legal practice management systems;
- The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Strong attention to detail; and
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
