About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with participants to provide tailored supports aligned with their individual goals, preferences, and care plans. You will play an important role in promoting independence, dignity, inclusion, and choice in everyday life.
Key Responsibilities depending on participant needs:
- Provide in-home support including:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Medication assistance
- Meal preparation
- Domestic assistance
- Manual handling support
- Support participants to access the community and engage in social and recreational activities
- Assist with transport to appointments and daily activities
- Follow and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)
- Encourage independence and capacity building
- Work across both 1:1 and group support settings
- Maintain accurate documentation including shift notes and incident reports
- Build respectful and professional relationships with participants, families, and support networks
About You
- We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, proactive, and genuinely committed to supporting people to achieve their goals.
- Female and male support workers are encouraged to apply.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa
- Minimum of certificate III or IV in Disability, Agedcare or Community support (completed, currently studying, or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in disability support (desirable )
- Current Australian Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Manual Handling Certificate (Highly desirable)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Infection Control Training or willingness to complete
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A person-centred approach to support delivery
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Availability
We are currently seeking dedicated Support Workers with flexible availability across:
- Weekday shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Sleepover and active night shifts (highly desirable)
This is currently a casual position, with opportunities to transition to part-time employment as our services continue to grow.
Pay rates are in accordance with the SCHADS Award.
