As we continue to invest in network growth, reliability, renewable integration and future grid capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Portfolio Director to lead the delivery of a significant portfolio of strategic capital works programs.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Project Manager Office, the Portfolio Director is accountable for the successful delivery of several strategic network portfolios, including areas such as Replacement (REPEX), Future Grid, Reliability and oversight of Unregulated portfolio.
You will oversee a large portfolio of capital projects and programs, ensuring delivery outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. Working across a matrix environment, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with senior leaders, delivery partners, regulators, customers and contractors to achieve strategic business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of major network investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and business objectives.

Drive the successful execution of complex capital programs and projects, maintaining focus on safety, cost, quality and schedule outcomes.

Optimise portfolio performance through effective prioritisation, resource planning and governance.

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Engineers and Project Supervisors, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Manage competing priorities and resource demands across multiple programs and portfolios to ensure delivery commitments are achieved.

Champion a strong Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Identify, assess and manage portfolio risks while implementing mitigation strategies to protect delivery outcomes.

Oversee portfolio budgets exceeding $100 million, ensuring financial discipline, value for money and regulatory compliance.

Provide strategic reporting, insights and recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums.

Drive continuous improvement, innovation and data-driven decision-making to enhance portfolio delivery performance.
About You
You are a strategic and commercially astute infrastructure leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale capital portfolios within utilities, energy, construction or related industries.
You bring:

10+ years' experience in senior leadership roles within utilities, energy, construction or infrastructure environments.

Proven experience managing large, complex capital portfolios valued at $100M+.

Strong portfolio, program and project delivery expertise.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively at executive level.

Demonstrated success leading large, multidisciplinary teams in matrix environments.

Strong commercial, financial and risk management capabilities.

Excellent communication, negotiation and decision-making skills.
Qualifications
You will ideally hold one or more of the following:

Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Business or Construction; or
-
Diploma in Project Management or equivalent experience; and/or
-
Professional project management accreditation (AIPM, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
