About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Youth Justice Mental Health Coordinator to provide statewide leadership, workforce development, and specialist support for Youth Justice Mental Health Clinicians across Victoria. This is a unique opportunity to shape services, influence best practice, and strengthen outcomes for young people involved in the youth justice system.
As the Youth Justice Mental Health Coordinator, you will:
- Provide expert clinical leadership, guidance, and support to Youth Justice Mental Health Clinicians across Victoria
- Lead training, orientation, reflective practice, and professional development programs.
- Drive statewide service development initiatives in youth forensic mental health.
- Build strong partnerships across mental health, youth justice, and community sectors.
- Advise senior leaders on emerging trends, best practice, and strategic priorities in youth forensic mental health.
About You
You are a senior mental health professional with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Registration/qualifications as a Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Social Worker.
- Extensive experience (approximately 10+ years post-registration) in mental health, including forensic and youth settings.
- Expertise in forensic mental health assessment, risk management, and evidence-based interventions for young people.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Victorian youth justice and mental health service landscape.
