About the Role:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is seeking an experienced clinician to undertake the role of Clinical Manager within Community Teams. The position supports young people aged up to 18 years experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, as well as young people aged 14–25 years experiencing first-onset psychosis.
As a Clinical Manager with CAMHS, you will provide expertise in triage and referral management, comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, therapeutic interventions, and recovery-focused clinical case management for young people with complex mental health needs. You will support and mentor HP1 and HP2 clinicians through clinical supervision and guidance, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and decision-making, assist in maintaining safe and effective service delivery, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and ongoing clinical supervision.
To be successful in this role, you need demonstrated experience in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young people experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including complex presentations requiring comprehensive risk assessment and management. Your experience includes triage, intake, and referral management, ensuring timely access to appropriate services and interventions. You are skilled in providing clinical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior clinicians, while fostering collaborative multidisciplinary practice through effective communication and coordination. You are also committed to delivering recovery-oriented, person-centred care that supports positive outcomes for young people and their families.
This role would be well suited to an experienced mental health clinician looking to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, supervision, and service improvement responsibilities.
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of 11.5 months with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be required to be available to work within all program areas of CAMHS as service needs arise.
A Merit Pool may be established from this recruitment process and will remain valid for 12 months. This Pool may be used to fill similar roles/future vacant positions at the same level across CHS.
