About the roles:
These roles are situated within the Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section of Victoria Police, to provide support to the impaired driving enforcement programs. The positions are located at the Police Complex at 20 Dawson Street Brunswick and work hours are generally 7am – 3.06pm weekdays.
We are currently seeking twocapable Senior Administration Assistant's to join our team and provide administrative support. These roles are critical to ensuring effective day to day Road Safety Act forensic sample and record management administration in support of operational policing activities. These positions will report directly to an Administration Manager, and subsequently to the Senior Sergeant in Charge of the Evidence Management and the Branch Manager at the Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section.
An induction program and full training of the role and position requirements will assist the successful applicants to confidently carry out their position duties.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements. It should be noted that this role works in evidence management and has on site only work which means that opportunities to work off site can be very limited. This role also requires constant movement between processing rooms, office spaces and storage facilities, some of which are offsite, with manual handling required to receive and distribute stock. You may be required to stand for periods of time to complete certain tasks.

Your duties will include:
- Using appropriate administrative IT applications and databases to undertake forensic sample processing and case management duties;

Maintaining chain of custody records and other relevant evidence relating to the movement and recording of Road Safety Act forensic samples;

Undertaking administrative tasks and functions to create reports for management teams;
-
Undertaking regular forensic sample couriering duties requiring use of a car;
-
Attending court on behalf of Victoria Police when required to give continuity evidence in relation to the processing and record management of Road Safety Act forensic samples;

Providing support to projects relating to impaired driving enforcement or the workplace.

Unpacking and packing testing kits and consumables
-
Counting large volumes of stock and maintaining routine and accurate auditing processes

Engaging safe OH&S practices to mo ve stock between storage areas
About You:
- Demonstrated administration and reporting experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes, and actively engage stakeholders;

Experience in using IT applications and databases such as the Microsoft Office suite;
-
Ability to maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, discuss and negotiate the resolution of administrative issues, and contribute and cooperate to achieve positive workplace outcomes;

Ability to work by direction as well as autonomously on your own initiative and be self-motivated and driven;

Ability to effectively and resourcefully operate in a dynamic and diverse working environment;

Willingness to be part of a hard-working team to support the impaired driving program in Victoria.

Hold a current Victorian Drivers licence.

Your usual place of work will be within Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section, at the Police Complex at 20 Dawson Street, Brunswick. This is part of the Road Policing Operations & Investigations Division, Road Policing, however you may be required to work at any other locations within the broader work unit as required.
