You want a job that helps bring efficient and accessible transport services to millions of people.
Here's your chance to design and deliver efficient, customer-focused services that also enhance accessibility, sustainability and overall quality of living for more people than you've imagined.
In this role, you'll:
Join our Public Transport Coordination team where you will play a critical role in keeping NSW’s public transport network moving by proactively coordinating responses to disruptions, incidents and planned events across multiple transport modes. You will work at the centre of operations, helping to minimise impacts to passengers while supporting safe, efficient and reliable network performance.
You will collaborate with transport operators, operations centres, emergency services and key stakeholders to maintain situational awareness and coordinate effective responses in a fast-paced environment. You will use operational systems and real-time information to assess network conditions, manage emerging issues and contribute to the seamless movement of customers across the transport network.
You will:
- Monitor, identify and respond to disruptions, congestion and delays across the public transport network.
- Coordinate operational responses to incidents, special events and planned works to minimise customer impacts.
- Liaise with transport operators, emergency services and other stakeholders to support network performance.
- Analyse real-time information and provide recommendations that support informed operational decision-making.
- Monitor transport routes and operational systems to identify issues and coordinate appropriate action.
- Contribute to incident planning, event preparation, operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for customers and the broader transport network.
We currently have 2 x Permanent Full-Time positions based on site at our Transport Management Centre (TMC) in Eveleigh. The TMC is a 24/7 operation, where you’ll work a rotating roster covering day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required. Attractive penalty and overtime rates apply, along with 5 weeks of annual leave per year.

About you
You are an experienced operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced, real-time environment where situational awareness, sound judgement and effective decision-making are critical. Your background includes working within an operational control room, coordination centre or similar 24/7 operational environment, where you have monitored live operations, responded to emerging issues and managed competing priorities under pressure.
Your expertise in incident response, stakeholder coordination and operational problem-solving enables you to quickly assess situations and implement effective solutions. You are a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Ideally, you bring exposure to public transport operations and/or bus operations, along with an understanding of how coordinated responses can minimise disruption and enhance network performance.
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant professional experience are essential, along with experience working in an operational control room environment and the ability to work a rotating 24/7 roster that includes day, night and weekend shifts.
