Sonnel Hospitality is seeking an exceptional Chief Marketing Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team and lead the next phase of growth across our portfolio of pubs, entertainment venues, accommodation, gaming and hospitality businesses.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, this is a highly strategic and commercial leadership role responsible for building Sonnel into a market-leading hospitality brand while driving revenue growth, guest loyalty, customer experience and EBITDA performance.
You will own the entire marketing and customer experience ecosystem, leading strategy and execution across:
- Brand & Corporate Communications
- Customer Experience (CX)
- Venue Marketing & Entertainment
- Loyalty & Customer Growth
- Data & Customer Intelligence
- Digital Marketing & Technology
- Partnerships & Commercial Revenue Streams
- AI & Marketing Transformation
This role carries a clear mandate: drive revenue growth, contribute to EBITDA performance, strengthen customer loyalty and position Sonnel as Australia's leading hospitality group.
What Success Looks Like
You will:
Drive revenue growth, visitation and guest spend across all venues
Build a best-in-class loyalty and personalisation strategy
Strengthen the Sonnel corporate and venue brands
Develop customer data and AI-driven marketing capabilities
Create measurable marketing ROI and EBITDA contribution
Identify and commercialise new revenue opportunities through partnerships, media and data
Establish a high-performing marketing function aligned to the Group's long-term growth strategy.
About You
You are a commercially minded, customer-obsessed executive who combines strategic thinking with a proven ability to deliver growth.
You will bring:
15+ years of senior marketing leadership experience, ideally at CMO, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Experience Officer or Marketing Director level
Significant experience within hospitality, pub groups, multi-site retail, gaming, sports or entertainment environments
Expertise across brand, customer experience, loyalty, digital and performance marketing
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of linking marketing investment to revenue and business performance
Experience leading transformation, marketing technology and AI initiatives
Deep understanding of customer data, CRM and marketing automation platforms
Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills with experience influencing at Executive and Board level
Experience working within regulated environments, particularly gaming, highly regarded.
