About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the site's quality function, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
You will play a critical role in developing and maintaining quality systems, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimise manufacturing performance while fostering a strong culture of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage quality frameworks: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems, policies, and procedures aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Oversee quality operations: Lead inspection processes, testing methods, and quality control measures to ensure consistent product standards across the site.
- Drive continuous improvement: Apply Total Quality Management, lean principles, and root cause analysis to enhance processes and prevent recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance and audit readiness: Monitor quality activities, prepare for audits, and maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Lead and collaborate: Mentor the quality team and work cross-functionally with stakeholders (suppliers, manufacturers, retailers) to embed quality across all operations.
- Promote safety and sustainability: Support WHSE requirements, Zero Harm culture, and deliver safe, sustainable, and customer-focused outcomes.
About you
You are a confident and influential quality professional who can build strong relationships, challenge the status quo, and drive positive change across a manufacturing operation.
- Experience in a Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Lead or similar role within manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO-based environments.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and root cause investigations.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S or Total Quality Management methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using reporting systems.
- SAP experience will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of chemical management systems and chemical safety practices will be advantageous.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
