About the role
This Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to work within a high-performing tertiary service, delivering comprehensive gastroenterology and hepatology care across The Prince Charles Hospital and Metro North Health facilities. You will operate with a level of increasing clinical independence, managing a diverse and complex patient cohort across both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to hands-on clinical work, you will play an important part in supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, fostering a positive learning environment and contributing to the development of future specialists.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide high-quality gastroenterology and hepatology care to inpatients and outpatients within The Prince Charles Hospital and other HHS in Metro North.
Assist with the clinical prioritisation of patients for procedures and specialist outpatient appointments
To contribute to the organisation of clinical services of the Department including role modelling effective management of personnel and financial resources where required.
Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
Extensive knowledge in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Proficiency in general gastroenterology, endoscopy and colonoscopy.
