THE POSITION:
Fairfield City Council is expanding its open space areas and is seeking experienced Horticulturist to join our Parks and Open Space Team in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.
We are looking for highly motivated, physically fit individuals with a strong work ethic to help maintain and enhance our Parks and Open Space areas. ESSENTIAL
- Trade Certificate III in Horticulture/Arboriculture/ Green keeping/Landscaping/Nursery
- Previous experience in maintenance of parks and gardens (typically 2 years)
- Plant identification skills
- Experience operating and maintaining small horticultural machinery (mower, blower, Chainsaw/pole saw)
- WHS Construction Induction Card (White card)
- Current Class 1A driver’s licence
DESIRABLE
- Chem Cert Certificate (AQF 3) NSW and experience with operating weed spraying equipment
- Operation of woodchipper
- MR/HR licence
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent, full-time position, 76 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade D, salary range is $74, 034 p.a. with progression to $77, 784 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $86, 720 p.a, plus 12% Superannuation
- A uniform is provided
