Azul is a waterfront Mediterranean restaurant located at the iconic Spit Bridge in Mosman. We are passionate about authentic hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Morocco, Spain, and the Mediterranean.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen and continue delivering exceptional food and quality.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and inspiring the kitchen team
- Creating and maintaining authentic Moroccan, Spanish, and Mediterranean menus
- Ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Managing kitchen operations, stock control, food costs, and supplier relationships
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Training, mentoring, and developing kitchen staff
- Working closely with management to develop seasonal menus and special events
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Mediterranean cuisine, with particular expertise in Moroccan and Spanish cooking
- Passion for authentic flavours and high-quality ingredients
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Experience with menu development and food cost management
- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
