We’re seeking a skilled Triage & Emergency Nurse to be the first point of contact for emergency, urgent, and walk-in veterinary cases. In this critical frontline role, you’ll use your clinical judgement, communication skills, and calm under pressure to ensure every patient receives the right care at the right time.
What you’ll do
Triage emergency and urgent cases over the phone and on arrival
Deliver rapid patient assessment and prioritisation based on clinical urgency
Provide initial emergency care and stabilisation when required
Support veterinarians with critical care, diagnostics, and treatment procedures
Monitor patient vitals and escalate changes in condition immediately
Maintain efficient patient flow through coordinated admissions and care planning
Assist with CPR and emergency interventions when required
Ensure clinical areas are fully prepared, stocked, and ready for emergencies
You’ll be part of a high-performing team
Work closely with ICU, surgical, medical, and nursing teams to deliver seamless, high-quality emergency care. You’ll also play a role in mentoring junior staff and supporting a culture of learning and excellence.

What we’re looking for
Minimum 3 years’ veterinary nursing experience (emergency/critical care preferred)
Confident in handling emergency care and triage
Strong ability to make quick, sound clinical decisions
Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
Confident and calm working in high-pressure clinical environments
Experience with veterinary practice software (e.g. ezyVet advantageous)
