About the role
Prestige Autobody Works is seeking an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity for a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and delivering excellent vehicle repairs. Working as part of our professional workshop team, you will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicles to a high standard, ensuring each vehicle is restored safely, accurately and as close as possible to its pre-accident condition.
Key responsibilities
- Assess damaged vehicles and determine the appropriate repair methods
- Repair dents, creases and damaged panels using hand tools and specialised equipment
- Remove, repair and replace damaged body panels where required
- Carry out welding and associated repair work when necessary
- Prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, grinding and filling
- Follow manufacturer specifications and approved repair procedures
- Complete repairs in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts and materials used
- Operate and maintain workshop equipment safely and correctly
- Work closely with the team to manage repair priorities and meet deadlines
About you
- Recognized qualification or apprenticeship in Panel Beating or Automotive Body Repair
- Previous experience in a professional smash repair or automotive workshop
- Strong knowledge of panel beating techniques and vehicle body repairs
- Competent with hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Experience with welding and panel replacement
- Good understanding of vehicle construction and repair procedures
- Ability to follow technical repair information and manufacturer specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
