Practical Training Pathways (PTP) is seeking a reliable and community-focused Student Support Officer based in Ceduna.
The role will support students throughout their training journey and act as a key contact between students, trainers and PTP’s administration team.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist students with enrolment, orientation and training documentation.
- Provide ongoing academic and general student support.
- Help students access online learning platforms and virtual classes.
- Monitor attendance, participation and course progress.
- Follow up students who miss classes or fall behind.
- Arrange additional literacy, numeracy or learning support where required.
- Maintain accurate student contact notes and support records.
- Liaise with trainers, employers and community organisations.
- Assist with local information sessions and student engagement activities.
- Refer students to appropriate external support services when necessary.
- Maintain student confidentiality and comply with PTP policies.
Selection criteria:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in student support, education, administration or community services.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and online platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Understanding of the needs of regional, Aboriginal and culturally diverse students.
- Knowledge of the VET sector is desirable but not essential.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain them.
- A valid driver’s licence is desirable.
