About the role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and own features end-to-end across ProSpend's spend-management platform. This is an AI-native role: you'll steering coding agents, and owning the quality of what ships. You'll work in a small team with real ownership — close to the product, close to the decisions. We're looking for someone whose edge is judgement, not keystrokes: you turn ambiguous requirements into precise specs, delegate the first pass to agents, and bring the architecture, taste, and verification that turn agent output into reliable production software.
What you'll do
- Own features end-to-end — from spec to production.
- Work agent-first with AI tools. Turn Jira tickets and ambiguous requirements into clear, testable specifications; delegate first-pass implementation to coding agents; review for architecture, correctness, and conventions; and own the code that ships.
- Orchestrate, don't just prompt. Run multiple agent tasks in parallel and design the feedback loops — tests, evals, guardrails — that let agents work reliably without constant supervision.
- Drive test automation and TDD with Playwright, JUnit, and Jest, with test cases authored and tracked in testing platform and wired into CI.
- Hold the verification bar. AI output is fallible and you are accountable for what reaches production — you catch defects through disciplined review, strong typing, and automated checks.
- Lift the team. Set conventions, write the specs and context that make both agents and teammates effective.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience programming in Java and Spring.
- 3 years of experience programming in JS framework (Vue or React).
- 1 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 1 years of experience with Generative AI Agents.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns.
- Fluent with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Gemini, or Codex) in real production work — not demos. You can decompose a problem, write a precise spec, delegate to agents, and verify the result.
- Strong code-reading and review skills. You assess architecture, correctness, and maintainability quickly — in an AI-native team, reading and reviewing matter as much as writing.
- Test-automation discipline. You write and maintain meaningful tests (Playwright / JUnit / Jest) and treat them as the contract that agent-generated code must satisfy.
- Ownership and comfort with ambiguity. You take a vague problem all the way to a shipped, reliable solution.
- Clear written communication.
Bonus points
- Background in financial technology, enterprise SaaS, or business process automation.
- Native mobile (iOS / Android).
- QASE in practice or Newman/Postman API testing.
- CI/CD pipeline design (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and observability.
- Designing agent workflows, evals, or reusable prompt/context patterns at team scale.
- Security & compliance awareness (ISO 27001 / data governance)
