About the position
This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in building Muswellbrook Shire's resilience to employment and growth pressures whilst securing ongoing legacy outcomes. You will drive the planning and delivery of priority housing, temporary workers accommodation and critical infrastructure, working across the full project lifecycle. Partnering with a broad range of stakeholders, you will respond directly to housing demand generated by major infrastructure and State Significant projects, shaping outcomes that will benefit the Shire for generations to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate housing and temporary workers accommodation projects
- Undertake investigations, research and analysis to inform land use, infrastructure and project planning outcomes in accordance with relevant State and regional planning frameworks
- Identify and help resolve barriers to project delivery, including issues relating to planning, infrastructure, servicing, staging and implementation
- Work alongside community communications and relevant stakeholders to understand community impacts, identify gaps in services and facilities, and help shape responses that support community wellbeing alongside physical growth
- Prepare reports, briefing notes, business cases and grant applications to support funding, decision-making and project implementation
- Brief, engage and manage consultants and specialist advisors undertaking project-related work on behalf of Council
- Maintain project budgets, records, schedules and reporting systems, providing regular updates on project status, risks and delivery issues
About you
- A Bachelor’s Degree Property Development or Project Management or related discipline and relevant industry experience.
- Contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in project coordination or delivery in one or more of the following areas: housing, infrastructure planning, urban development, land use planning, property development, place-making or local and state government projects.
- Contemporary working knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.

- Temporary full time, 35 hours per week, Term Contract for a period of up to 2 years
- Salary from $123,603 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
