Provide care within a busy and evolving hospital environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference.
Work collaboratively with nurses, midwives, medical and allied health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for newborns and their families.
Support families and carers through what can be an emotional and challenging time, providing reassurance, advocacy and clear communication.
Contribute to a positive learning environment by supporting students and colleagues through supervision, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in Newborn Care, you will provide high-quality, evidence-informed and family-centred nursing care, responding confidently to the changing needs of newborns and their families.
Deliver safe, effective and individualised neonatal care that responds to the needs of babies and their families or carers.
Assess and respond to changes in a baby's condition, escalating care and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Communicate effectively with families and carers, identify their needs and advocate for their wellbeing throughout their care journey.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and make appropriate referrals to support ongoing care and discharge planning.
Support the development of others through supervision and mentoring, including students on clinical placement, while delegating care appropriately within scope of practice.

Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Current neonatal experience in New Born or Paediatric experience..
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team
Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues
Demonstrated effective communication skills- written and verbal
