Details: The Policy Branch in the Work Safety Group is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Policy Officer to join the Workplace Legislation and Policy team.
The Workplace Legislation and Policy Team is responsible for ensuring that the legislative frameworks for workers’ compensation, workplace safety, dangerous goods and industrial relations are operating efficiently and support reductions in the health, social and economic impact of work injury. It also monitors and oversees the performance of the Territory’s private sector workers’ compensation scheme, represents the Territory at local and national forums covering work health and safety, injury management and industrial relations matters.
As a Policy Officer within the team, you will support the Senior Director, Workplace Legislation and Policy in contributing to a range of legislative policy and reform projects delivering accurate, timely and professional advice to support to the development and maintenance of effective regulatory and industrial relations frameworks for the Territory.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in law, economics, workers’ compensation, work health and safety policy and public policy are highly desirable
Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

This position is in a workplace designed for activity-based work (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
