About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable
Project Development Manager to join our New Business team. This is a key role focused on driving business growth by building strong client relationships, leading project development activities, and delivering compelling commercial proposals.
You will guide projects through their full development lifecycle—from concept and early design through to tendering, negotiation, and contract execution—while leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with client and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Understand client needs and position EPEC as the contractor of choice
- Provide strategic advice on project development and delivery solutions
- Identify opportunities to grow and expand service offerings
Proposal & Project Development
- Lead projects through the full development lifecycle (concept to contract execution)
- Develop and review project plans, proposals, budgets, and resource strategies
- Define scope, objectives, and success criteria with stakeholders
- Lead risk assessments and governance reviews
- Support accurate pricing and estimation activities
Project Execution & Coordination
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineering, commercial, finance, construction)
- Manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present project updates, including PMR reporting
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop bid and delivery strategies
- Communicate with stakeholders on project progress, risks, and key decisions
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve issues effectively
Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices and quality standards
- Lead governance reviews and risk mitigation strategies
- Drive continuous improvement across project development processes
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership to cross-functional teams
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Mentor and support team members’ development
About You
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction, Commercial, or related field
- Proven experience in project development, project management, or business development
- Strong background in EPC, infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through to contract execution
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong leadership capability across multidisciplinary teams
- Construction White Card & Driver’s Licence
Desirable
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Experience in contract or risk management frameworks
- Exposure to renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects
