WANTED: Graduate Project Engineer
Company Profile:
Based in Wangara, Onsite Engineering PTY LTD is a small privately-owned construction company that focuses on providing specialized labour & equipment to the commercial construction industry in the Perth Metro area. We have worked on such iconic projects as the Perth underground rail project, Perth Children’s Hospital, Perth City Busport, Optus Stadium and Forrest Chase Redevelopment due to our ability to solve complex problems for clients by utilising specialised knowledge, services and equipment. The company is split into 2 separate but related divisions:
OSE Riggers:
Provides specialized engineered rigging services for the commercial construction industry including Steel erection, Tilt up/Precast construction, Specialty Propping and jacking services, Construction works on heritage structures & Installation of large architectural and artwork.
OSE Gantry’s:
Provides custom design, fabrication and installation of 10kPa Load rated overhead impact protection gantry’s.
Position Role/ Responsibilities:
Onsite Engineering is looking for an enthusiastic engineering graduate to join our team and gain the skills and experience necessary to develop into an effective project manager. This position requires regular site visits to construction sites all over Perth so will suit someone who doesn’t want to spend all day in an office and isn’t afraid to get hands on. Ultimately, we are looking to train a person to be able to independently organise and oversee all works to be completed on a given project from tender to completion stages.
Typical duties include:
In the Office:
· Design & drafting of Gantry and other structural components, including onsite measurement & set out
· Assist with estimating and quoting of jobs & development of cost analysis on projects
· Purchasing & Procurement of materials
· Development, review & submission of safety & QA documentation
· Liaison with clients & workers onsite to ensure project targets are met
· Start to finish Project Management including: asset management, man power, logistics, Production scheduling & invoicing
In the field:
- Precision Field Setout: Perform structural set outs and component mark-outs utilizing a high-precision Robotic Total Station.
- Tekla Model Design Liaison: Coordinate closely with project draftsmen to analyse, review, and navigate structural steel fabrication files within Tekla software.
- As-Built Engineering Surveys: Execute comprehensive as-built surveys of newly erected structural steel frames to confirm compliance with engineered tolerances.
- Concrete Scanning & Data Processing: Conduct subsurface concrete scanning and process the captured spatial data to seamlessly import scans into our master 3D project models.
- Clash Detection & Early Assessment: Review site conditions against engineering models to run early clash detection, proactively identifying steel or concrete/site issues before fabrication or erection begins.
Key Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
· A Minimum Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Structural or Mechanical)
· Experience with AUTOCAD and 3D CAD software Tekla prefered
· Strong skills in Microsoft office; Outlook, Word, Excel, Access
· A manual drivers licence
· Experience working in the construction industry or on construction sites in any capacity is a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
