TARSEM13 Transport is a Queensland-based transport business operating a fleet of 8 trucks delivering concreting and building materials to construction, commercial and industrial clients.
The company is seeking an experienced Transport Company Manager to organise, control and manage the company’s transport operations, including drivers, truck scheduling, client delivery requirements, compliance, fleet usage, contracts, maintenance coordination and operating costs.
Position Summary
The Transport Company Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the transport business. The role requires practical experience in fleet-based transport operations, driver coordination, scheduling, compliance and cost control.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and control the daily operations of the transport business. Manage the allocation and scheduling of 8 trucks for delivery of concreting and building materials. Coordinate drivers, delivery routes, job schedules and client delivery requirements. Supervise drivers and operational staff to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently and on time. Monitor fleet usage, vehicle availability, delivery performance, fuel usage, downtime and operating costs. Ensure transport operations comply with road safety, load requirements, fatigue management, workplace health and safety and company procedures. Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections, repairs, registration and roadworthiness requirements. Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, mechanics and serviceproviders. Assist with transport service agreements, contract requirements and client service arrangements. Develop, implement and monitor operational procedures for scheduling, driver allocation, safety, fleet use and service delivery. Maintain records for delivery schedules, driver allocation, vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections, compliance and operational performance. Review transport operations and recommend improvements to efficiency, service delivery and cost control. Monitor costs and financial performance of the transport operations, including fuel, maintenance, labour, downtime and delivery productivity. Assist with recruitment, training and performance management of drivers and transport staff. Prepare operational reports for management regarding fleet performance, staffing, compliance, client service issues and business risks.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in transport operations, logistics, fleet management or business operations. Ability to manage a fleet of trucks, drivers, schedules and delivery requirements. Knowledge of transport compliance, road safety, vehicle maintenance coordination and workplace safety requirements. Ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and service providers. Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to monitor costs, fleet performance and operational efficiency. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Qualifications
Applicants should have one of the following:
- AQF Diploma or higher qualification in transport, logistics, business, management, automotive or a related field; or At least three years of relevant experience in transport operations, logistics, fleet operations or transport business management.

Pay: $78,987.99 – $98,000.00 per year
