The Rigby has been operated in Maitland for over 10 years. We're a family owned cafe, bar & bistro, open seven days a week for breakfast, plus lunch and dinner, Wednesday to Saturday. We pride ourselves on exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere accompanied by delicious dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes.
- Support menu planning and development.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, following all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Assist with stock management, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste.
- Help oversee kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are meeting performance standards and working effectively.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Comfort working quieter shifts independently
- A passion for food and a commitment to quality.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
