About the role
This role provides expert injury management and return to work support, helping employees achieve safe and sustainable work outcomes. Through proactive case management and stakeholder partnership, it reduces risk, supports compliance and promotes employee wellbeing.
In this role you will:
- Lead the end-to-end management of workplace injury, workers compensation and return to work cases, ensuring positive outcomes for employees and Council.
- Partner with leaders across the organisation to provide expert advice on injury management, medical fitness and return to work strategies.
- Collaborate with insurers, medical providers and other stakeholders to support timely recovery and sustainable return to work outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement of injury management programs, policies and processes in line with legislation and industry best practice.
Monitor claims performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to improve employee wellbeing and reduce organisational costs.

About you
The successful candidate is someone who:
Minimum 5 years' experience in injury management and return to work case management within a high-volume NSW environment.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying the Workers Compensation Act 1987, Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998, and SIRA requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships, influence outcomes and provide expert advice across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage complex matters through effective negotiation, conflict resolution, prioritisation and time management, while delivering positive outcomes and maintaining high standards of service.
