About the role
Bunge is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shipping Assistant to join our Shipping team in Melbourne on a fixed-term, part-time basis.
Reporting to the Sr Manager Industrial Management East Coast, you will play an important role in supporting the efficient execution of grain export and domestic shipping activities. Working closely with exporters, transport providers, operational sites and internal stakeholders, you will assist with shipping administration, customer service, regulatory compliance and the coordination of grain movements across the supply chain.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is keen to develop their knowledge of the grain export, logistics and agribusiness sectors.
Duties
- Respond to enquiries from sellers, exporters, transport providers and operational sites, providing a high level of customer service and support
- Accurately enter and maintain shipping, order and transaction information across relevant systems
- Generate and distribute shipping reports and documentation as required
- Process domestic outturn transactions through internal systems
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the timely execution of grain shipments
- Assist in monitoring shipment schedules and resolving administrative issues to support operational requirements
- Support compliance with MICoR requirements, Department of Agriculture guidelines and customer specifications
- Work closely with storage and handling operations to support container export and import activities
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across shipping and operational systems
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Shipping team and undertake other duties as required
About you
- Customer-focused with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to use initiative
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Previous experience in administration, logistics, shipping or customer service is desirable
- Interest in the grain, agriculture, logistics or export sectors and a willingness to learn
