G & Del’s Bakery is a growing bakery based in Chelsea Heights, Victoria, specialising in high-quality breads, pastries, cakes, and traditional Filipino baked products. We are committed to delivering authentic Filipino bakery favourites alongside artisan breads and specialty pastries made using quality ingredients and traditional baking techniques.
As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Baker with strong skills in Filipino breads, pastries, cakes, and commercial bakery production to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, knead, proof, bake, and finish a wide range of breads, cakes, pastries, and traditional Filipino bakery products.
- Produce Filipino baked goods including pandesal, ensaymada, mamon, Spanish bread, hopia, ube-based products, and other specialty items.
- Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, icings, and cake components according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure consistency, quality, presentation, and food safety standards.
- Decorate and finish cakes and specialty bakery products as required.
- Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management.
- Ensure all equipment, workstations, and storage areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
- Comply with Food Safety Standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Assist with product development and contribute ideas for new bakery items and seasonal offerings.
- Work collaboratively with bakery staff to meet daily production targets and customer demand.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2–3 years of full-time, relevant employment experience as a Baker in a commercial bakery or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience producing Filipino breads, pastries, cakes, and traditional baked products.
- Strong knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, baking techniques, cake production, and pastry preparation.
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting bakery supplies.
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification; or
- Relevant trade qualification in baking, pastry, or commercial food production.
- Experience developing and producing Filipino specialty bakery products for retail sale.
