Role Description:
We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Manager – Governance to demonstrate their technical expertise and provide leadership on the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) program within our Strategic Surveillance business. This key role will report to the Operations Manager and will be offered on a permanent full time basis.
Core Duties:
- Ensure maintenance and support activities are undertaken and executed in accordance with regulations and the program maintenance management plan, meeting maintenance technical compliance
- Apply leadership, positive influence and effective communication to program stakeholders, assuring the successful provision of preventative and corrective maintenance actions
- Oversee maintenance technical training, ensuring maintenance and operational support personnel are adequately trained on the maintenance requirements, and their currency of technical qualifications are maintained
- Achieve, maintain and utilise effectively the senior maintenance manager delegation
- Enact a process of ongoing continuous improvement and performance evaluation with program maintenance and operational support services
- Act as a prime point of contact for maintenance and support services enquiries, collaborate effectively with customers, internal and external stakeholders, establishing good relationships and maintaining a positive work culture
- Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining the maintenance support network in relation to outsourced maintenance and support services
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience as a maintenance manager and a relevant technical qualification
- Proven ability to resolve maintenance or support issues of a complex technical nature, knowledge of engineering governance and assurance in a regulatory environment
- Good communication, reporting and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Resiliency and ability to provide leadership within a high paced environment, and the ability to undertake interstate travel
- Whilst not essential, maintenance Defence industry experience will be highly regarded

The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is a connected series of three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) located in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The state-of-the-art defence radar system provides wide-area surveillance at ranges of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometres and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief, and rescue operations.
