We are currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Disability Support Workers to support local participants in and around the Heidelberg area. To meet the specific support requirements and personal preferences of our participants, we are actively looking to build a diverse team and encourage both male and female applicants to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Access: Accompany and transport participants to social activities, appointments, recreational events, and shopping.
- Daily Living Support: Assist with meal preparation, menu planning, and light household tasks (e.g., tidying, dishwashing, laundry).
- Personal Care: Deliver respectful assistance with personal hygiene, showering, grooming, and mobility when required.
- Goal Achievement: Implement individual support plans to help participants build capacity and achieve their NDIS goals.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate, professional shift notes and document participant progress.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a Disability Support Worker is highly preferred.
- First Aid & CPR: Current and valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
- Compliance & Right to Work Checks:
- Right to Work: Must have valid, unrestricted working rights in Australia. Non-citizens/visa holders will be subject to a mandatory VEVO check.
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months).
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) is highly regarded.
- Transport: Current Australian Driver’s Licence with a reliable, fully insured vehicle.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and reliability.
