We work closely with builders to ensure their needs are met. We are looking for a Bricklayer and a Bricklayer's Labourer to start as soon as possible. We are looking for those with experience as well as availability to work across Monday to Friday, and Saturdays also.
Bricklayer Job Description:
Supreme Brickworks Pty Ltd is looking for permanent (full-time) bricklayer to join our team.
As part of your duties, you will work with clay bricks, concrete blocks, and other types of building materials in mortar. Using these materials and your bricklaying skills, you will construct and repair veneer and full brick construction, partitions, arches, and other structures.
The Job:
- Reading and work from plans and specifications.
- Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials.
- Spreading layers of mortar to serve as a base and binder for bricks in rows, designs, and shapes.
- Spreading mortar between joints.
- Embedding blocks and bricks in mortar and removing excess mortar.
- Repairing and maintaining clay bricks, cement blocks or bricks and related structures.
- Operating brick cutting machines.
You will need to:
- Have a Certificate III in Bricklaying or equivalent
- 2 years of work experience
- If you do not have qualifications, we could consider you if you have more than 3 years of experience
- Enjoy practical work
- Be able to work at heights
- high level of physical fitness
- Have a positive and hard-working attitude
- Must have White Card
- Must have ABN
- Driver’s licence and transport to jobs all over Melbourne
- Able to perform heavy lifting, remaining on feet for long periods of time, carrying items etc.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team, with good communication skills
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Your own appropriate workwear, such as steel capped boots, work shorts/pants and high visibility shirts
- A strong work ethic, punctuality and reliability, the ability to work efficiently
Bricklayer's Labourer Job Description:
The Bricklayer’s Labourer is responsible for assisting qualified bricklayers on-site by preparing materials (i.e. mixing mortar and moving materials to where they are needed), maintaining a safe and organised worksite, and performing manual labour tasks to ensure bricklaying projects are completed to a high standard and in an efficient manner.
Daily Tasks:
· Mix mortar and carry bricks, blocks, and other materials to bricklayers.
· Prepare and set up work areas, including scaffolding, tools, and equipment.
· Load and unload materials.
· Cut bricks or blocks to size as directed.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite.
· Assist in laying bricks and blocks under supervision when required.
· Follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
· Support the bricklaying team with general labouring duties as directed by manager.
Skills & Attributes:
· Must have White Card.
· Must have ABN.
· Previous experience in bricklaying or construction preferred.
· Driver’s licence and transport to jobs all over Melbourne.
· High level of physical fitness.
· Able to perform heavy lifting, remaining on feet for long periods of time, carrying items etc.
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Knowledge of basic hand tool use.
· Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team, with good communication skills.
