Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this role is central to maintaining the commercial integrity of site operations.You will be responsible for contract administration, variation assessment, cost tracking, and financial reporting, while partnering closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and client representatives to identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and drive better project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contracts ensuring compliance, accuracy, and alignment with commercial obligations
- Manage and assess contract variations, claims, scope changes, and commercial adjustments
- Analyse project cost performance, identifying trends, risks, and key financial drivers
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting cycles across site operations
- Maintain accurate cost tracking across labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors
- Partner with Project Managers and Finance teams to align operational delivery with financial outcomes
- Work with Procurement to support supplier performance, pricing validation, and contract compliance
- Prepare and support monthly commercial reporting, reconciliations, and project performance reviews
- Liaise with clients on commercial matters including claims, budgets, and contractual obligations
- Contribute to continuous improvement in commercial systems, reporting, and governance
About You
You are commercially disciplined, detail-focused, and confident working with financial and contractual data in a mining or heavy industry environment. You understand how site operations translate into commercial outcomes and can effectively partner across operational, technical, and finance functions.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in contracts administration, cost control, or commercial/project finance roles
- Solid understanding of variations, forecasting, budgeting, and project financial management
- Strong Excel and financial analysis capability
- Experience working with Project, Finance, Procurement, and operational teams
- Mining or civil construction exposure (highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail and structured analytical thinking
- QLD Class C Driver’s Licence
