The Team
Our Tax division is continuing to grow and we’re expanding our M&A Tax team in Melbourne.
The M&A Tax team advises a diverse global and local client base across industries, providing technical and practical tax advice throughout the M&A lifecycle.
The team are close‑knit and value collaboration, autonomy and delivering high‑quality outcomes for clients. They also enjoy having direct access to senior leadership, while experiencing minimal bureaucracy.
You will be exposed to advisory-driven, technically interesting and commercially focused engagements on transactions that regularly appear in the national press.
How You Will Contribute
As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in the team, you will work on multiple projects of varying complexity, gaining exposure to different deal types and tax challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include -
Managing tax structuring on M&A transactions – identifying and articulating the tax outcomes on complex fund, entity and asset transactions
Undertaking tax due diligence on M&A transactions – analyse tax documents and computations to identify key risks
Preparing tax advice– prepare and present tax technical advice on material items
Analysing financial models – review tax aspects of valuation models and highlight implications for deal negotiations
Helping implement transactions – reviewing documentation required to implement transactions
Client and management engagement – participate in calls and meetings with clients and target management, while supporting day-to-day deal execution
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you’ll be a motivated self-starter, have a team-oriented personality and a commercial mindset. You’ll also bring -
Experience in M&A Tax, or Corporate Tax, within a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services organisation
Demonstrated technical knowledge of Australian corporate income tax laws
Clear written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset
An ability to think differently and contribute positively
