The Opportunity:
The Category Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering SPC Global’s category growth plans through ownership of reporting, shelf management, and execution tracking.
This role ensures the right product assortment and in-store presentation by leading planogram development, conducting detailed space-to-sales analysis, and collaborating with internal teams to optimise ranging and merchandising.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Demand Planning, the Category Manager drives the implementation of agreed category initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, in full, and to a high standard across key customers and channels.
Alongside internal partnering, the Category Manager engages with retail partners and available data to monitor category performance and execution in market.
By leveraging scan data, shopper insights, and internal performance metrics, they identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
This role acts as the bridge between strategic category planning and in-market execution, ensuring SPC Global’s category strategies are effectively implemented, measured, and refined to deliver tangible commercial results.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with customer, marketing and RGM teams to support delivery of customer joint business plans (JBPs), for relevant categories

Support execution through customer engagement and presentations

Develop QTRly customer review and performance reviews

Maintain and update category dashboards, scorecards, and performance trackers using scan data and sales reports. Track KPIs (e.g. sales, margin, share) and course-correct based on performance trends.

Analyse sales trends, promotional effectiveness, and range performance to identify growth opportunities or risks.

Present regular performance updates to internal teams and escalate issues proactively

Develop the preferred Shelf plans for SPC’s categories by leveraging shopper research, analytics and where required direct 3rd party space management suppliers to develop customer specific planograms

Build data-driven range, space, and merchandising recommendations.

Support Marketing team stage in gate process gates 3–5 with relevant category information and analytics including benchmarks, validation, shopper behavior and anticipated source of volume

The employee will participate fully in the Health & Safety improvement process.
The successful candidate will have:

Tertiary Qualified in Business (or similar) or Finance (accounting)

Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint skills, high level system use and presenting to an audience

Successful track record working in FMCG across Category, RGM and/ or Sales

Established reputation as a high achiever with strong understanding of Category Management

Strong planning & organisation skills, and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple projects

Ability to innovate and build on existing processes to increase efficiency/accuracy.
