Serena Care is seeking experienced, compassionate, and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide personalised in-home and community support across Rowville and Croydon.
We have multiple participants with varying needs, including mental health, personal care, and community access support.
Shift Availability
- Ongoing weekly shifts available (including weekday/Weekend AM/PM shifts)
- Flexible rosters depending on participant needs
- Additional shifts available to cover leave and expand hours
About the Role
Provide one-on-one care and support, including:
- Personal Care & Mobility: Assist with walking, safe transfers, showering, and dressing
- Health & Wellbeing: Support mental health and emotional wellbeing, follow structured routines or meal plans, and assist with medication (competency preferred or training provided)
- Daily Living & Community: Light household tasks, meal preparation, transport, and community outings
Skills & Requirements
- Female Support Workers required for some participants (preference-based)
- Warm, patient, and able to build rapport easily
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability
- Experience supporting mental health needs and structured routines
- Medication competency or willingness to complete Serena Care training
- Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred care
- Full driver’s licence and own car (preferred)
Clinical or Mental Health Background – Highly Preferred
- Previous mental health, disability, aged care, hospital, or clinical experience
- Experience supporting individuals living with schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behaviours of concern
- Understanding of person-centred care and trauma-informed support practices
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours using calm, professional, and supportive approaches
- Experience with behavioural de-escalation and emotional regulation support
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Nursing students (Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing) encouraged to apply
- Overseas-qualified nurses highly regarded
- Enrolled Nurses (EN) or Registered Nurses (RN) highly regarded
- Knowledge of medication safety and hands-on care experience will be advantageous

- First Aid & CPR Certification
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- COVID-19 Infection Control Training Certificate

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour
