We're helping deliver the transport network for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, shaping a safe, efficient and connected network for Queensland. The Service Planning & Infrastructure team supports this by planning, coordinating and optimising the state's multi-modal transport network.
The Games Time Passenger Transport (GTPT) team leads the planning of passenger transport solutions for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Bringing together public transport planning, network integration and delivery coordination, the team ensures the network can meet the unique demands of the Games.
Working across modes, GTPT identifies and implements service changes and infrastructure enhancements to support increased demand, while balancing the needs of customers and communities. In close partnership with government agencies, operators and delivery partners, the team plays a central role in translating the Games transport strategy into a practical, deliverable network that leaves a lasting legacy for Queensland.
About the role:

As a Principal Network Planner, you will deliver multi-modal public transport service improvements to support the Games, with a key focus on developing and implementing the base network service plan that underpins the Games transport strategy.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the planning and development of the base public transport network, incorporating bus, ferry, light rail and heavy rail improvements required to deliver the Games transport plan.
Contribute to planning and development of the GTPT Concept of Operations to deliver the vision for public transport during the Games.
Assess event specific transport plans, as well as infrastructure and operational constraints and opportunities, to inform what changes are required to the base public transport network to accommodate the games task, ensuring they are operationally affordable, reduce impacts to customers, and are deliverable.
Develop a staged implementation strategy of the necessary service changes and underpinning network improvements to meet overall requirements.
Communicate and gain approval for the proposed network and associated service changes
Work closely with the broader Service Planning & Infrastructure and Games transport teams to ensure changes meet overall requirements.

Desirable:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in transport planning, urban planning, transport economics or a related field.
Experience in public transport network and service planning.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Experience planning and/or managing complex passenger transport networks and operations.
Experience using transport scheduling tools (e.g. HASTUS or similar) to develop service plans and inform resource decisions.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse options, build a case for change and clearly communicate outcomes.
Ability to apply transport planning or operational expertise to inform network and infrastructure proposals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to solve complex problems, meet delivery timeframes and contribute to a positive team culture.
